We have a got a new Swift Charisma 570 and are pleased with it apart from the fact that we have problems getting a lightweight porch awning that fits well. The problem is caused by the door being near the end of the van such that the awning track where you feed the awning is already starting to slope down so that the feed in is not in a straight line. I hope this makes sense! Has anyone had a similar problem or got any ideas for a well fitting, cheapish and lightweight porch awning.

Thanks, T.

Hi Tracy, we have the same van albeit an Abbey vogue 495. We bought a Fiamma caravanstore zip and apart from the quality issues we had with it, had the same problem of covering the door which is on the roof slope. We sold that afer 4 months and a rather large loss and we now have a NR combi awning.

Had NR awnings before and pleased with them so we thought wed try the combi. (fed up of changing the awning when the van gets changed)

Thanks for getting back to me, we have had NR awning before too but it was too small for the new van. I have looked on NR awning's website but cannot find a "combi" awning. If you have time could you please let me have a bit more info about it, we too do not want to have to change again if and when we change the van.

Thank, Tracy.

Tracey, what NR are doing now is you choose the size awning you want (we went for a 14' as this comes between the 2 side windows), they then alter a full awning of that size supply the pad and arm to use on 1 side as a combi and hey presto a combi awning.

Now im glad you got back to me now as I am watching an nr combi awning on ebay only been used for 2 weeks as new. this is one of the combis they did untill a couple of months ago its 12' you should get it for nearly half price. Im a bit peed off I didnt wait a bit longer but thats life. it the top of the range as well

Good luck with what you decide

Hi Tracy, We have a charisma 565 which I think is very similar to yours, we used an isabella magnum awning which was great until we needed more room for our childrens toy's etc. I would recomend either the magnum or the minor as great quality awnings. The magnum could be fitted anywhere along the awning rail using two poles with thick cushioned pads which pressed up against the side of the caravan to seal it, or the one end could be fed down the awning rail at the back of the van. We have now opted for a new isabella capi lux full awning and are really pleased with it. I don't think you can beat isabella but they do come at a premium.

Hi,

We have a Charisma 570 and we have a SunnCamp Scenic Plus Porch awning for when we are not using the Bradcot Classic full awning.

I find it fits really well, no problems at all.

Cheers,

Paul
