Hi Jo-anne,

Well, well. I go away for a few weeks and see you have done a full u turn! No problem for me. We did look at the new Conqueror last week. Yes at first site it looks fab. However have you seen it after a rainfall? The metallic sides are grey not silver, and goodness me did it show all the dirty raindrops. I reckon it will need regular cleaning and lot of care to avoid "bush" marks when travelling down narrow lanes.

So for my part we ordered the Bailey Series 6 Senator Wyoming with a few upgrades like better upholstery and a Powrtouch motor mover. We did a very full analysis between the Swift and Bailey using a scoring matrix. The end result was that close I may as well tossed a coin.

In the end the Bailey won because the front seats are longer, the mtplm is lower, the fixed double bed is 3 inches wider, the tyres are slightly wider and the end bathroom is to die for. The scandinavian wood finish, we love, virtually the same as the Sterling.More flexibility for tv viewing as you pointed out previously.

Finally overall price on our px Vendee and all the gizmos still gave us a saving of over

Hi Jo-anne,The interesting factor for us both is what you think you initially want isn't necessarily the long term solution. As I said the difference overal between the Bailey and Swift was a *** paper. Our Bailey dealer at Chipping Sodbury have always been brilliant in after care service and I guess with the superb deal they offered we were tempted. For our part we do use CC sites without facilities , eg Grummore so the rear end bathroom is a realbonus.

Without wishing to upset other Forum members I am convinced Swift and Bailey are so far ahead of the rest, we may unfortunately see the demise of some of the other brands over the next 12 months.

I bet you have the best nights sleep ever in the Onyx. The matress is absolutely brilliant. Enjoy your new toy. Where is the maiden voyage taking you? Did you have to buy a new awning?

Cheers

Alan

hi alan, i totally agree with you no one else can keep up. i do think avondale one of the ones that i think just cant keep up and are so far behind.

i had to have a new awning we only have a ventura marlin and we need more space. so i bought the blue and grey one to match the silver sides, lol. the silver sides will also go nicely with the silver kia sedona, lol.

take care and enjoy.

when do you get your wtoming?.

Hi Jo-anne,

Wyoming arrives early november. We will take her away for a few weeks and see how she performs in the cold.

I thought about extending my 1000cm Isabella but think 1090cm may be too far and cause an odd look as the front will be narrower than the rear. The awning is important for us especially with two looney spaniels.

Our dealer said we will need at least two hours to be shown all aspects of the van at collection. He was most insistent on this point even though we are seasoned tuggers.

Catch you soon.

Hi Alan

We had our Isabella awning extended from 1025 to 1050 by Isabella and they said they would only alter them by up to two sizes so yours would be four sizes which would make the awning look out of shape. I wish we could change ours because even though it has only been altered by one size you can still tell by the shape of it

Hi Lee

I agree with you. After a lot of discussion it is very clear our current Isabella would not not look good if extended by90cm. I have sold it to a friend who also has a Pageant Vendee. We will now have to save a few pennies and buy a new Issy.

Cheers

Alan
