Swift factory tours

I read on another caravan forum that several Swift owners enjoyed seeing the various build stages of Swift caravans on a factory tour.

Has anyone been on one?

Can any Swift owner apply to go on one, or do you have to belong to the owners club or something?

We have a Swift and would be very interested to go on a tour and I am sure there are other Swift owners who would like to do the same.

I went on one about 12 years ago, never asked to do so, but at the time if you wanted to business with the group you had to do a full factory tour to see how they operated and the standards they required.

Being a `vanner I found it very interesting and useful (better than working!) and if you`re into that sort of thing it would be worthwhile.

I don`t know their criteria for tours nowadays, but if you get stuck try flogging them a product or a service, you never know your luck.

It was a new beginning for factory tours and another forums members happened to be the guinea pigs that first time, however it was very successful and I'd expect the experience will be extended to other forums as well as owners and owners club. However Swiftgroup post on here and I'm sure will confirm, we just enjoyed being a guinea pigs for a day...you want to see what Swift feed guinea pigs!!

I might also add that those particular tours weren't limited to Swift owners either. All van owners were able to go, as we did, being an Avondale owner. It was very interesting and I'm certainly glad I went.

Kath I will keep an eye open for that I have been to the factory but only as far as the canteen when I worked for The Health Scheme/BHSF.On that visit I also returned my van for a new roof to be fitted.

Thanks very much Kath. That's great news.

We are currently awaiting a delivery date for our new Swift Challenger, which we are treating ourselves to as a joint retirement present. Can't tell you how excited I'm getting!

We look forward to visiting the factory.
