Hello, all just wondering if someone can help a dumb person 😂 i am looking to finally go long distance and worried about certain roads I do route plan but I'd prefer to have a decent app that I can rely on. Iv opted for the sygic app however I'm having a dumb moment the sizes for my 'outfit' there measurements show (' ")
Is this in feet metres or cm?
It doesn't say at all and there website doesn't help. I have tried a few different measurements some are accepted some seem to automatically change smaller.
Also try to take me on a known road not suitable 😂😂

Any help appreciated thank you

The measurements shown in your pictures are in classic feet and inches notation.

9'8" stands for 9 feet and 8 inches

9'8" is very wide, 7'6" or 8' would be more realistic.
Total vehicle length of 14' as shown there is pretty short (ie the same as the length of a VW Golf). For a car and caravan you'd more likely be at something like 38'. Will it not let you set that?

So I currently have these sizes in, this includes with a rough figure my caravan and car, I have a Ford Focus Estate 2019
My caravan is
Swift Sprite musketeer 2013 TD
Some sizes when inputting they get changed so iv had to go as close as possible, the length iv had to use a smaller figure which changes itself to the figure shown, the app is extremely buggy.

Thank you

My last caravan was a Musketeer TD 2012 model and total length was 6.4m including A frame. I’m not too sure that I’d trust this app. I just used my Garmin sat nav which I could input my own routes and for exact directions to a site I used the sites own route information, combined with a look at Google Street view to familiarise myself with various recognisable way points.

Specialist satnavs and apps do need the outfit length entered to operate properly as some roads have mandatory length limits as low as 10m (33 ft) - as well as height and width.

I know that, but why state the obvious.?

From the earlier posts its not obvious that he OP is clear on the caravans shipping length, so as I had the same caravan it thought it might be useful to confirm its length, which combined with his car's length gives the input data.

Thank you for all the replies so I'm aware my car is 15 feet 1 inch long the caravan shipping length is 20.97feet my issue is when inputting what I believe to be right sizes it changed the figures, there is what looks to be no way to change what the sizes are ie feet, metres and so on.
I do all the needed rout planning, iv been towing a long long time, just sometimes roads have diversions and road closures that are unpredicted so I'd also like the help from a reliable satnav or app.
Thank you for the help so far.

The fact it uses feet and inches, suggests to me the system has its roots in the USA. and I wonder if its algorithms do not adequately understand our roads here in the UK.
I think you may be right, a quick Google others have experienced the same issue i am.
Shame there seems to be no resolution, I will try my old garmin sat nav been a good few years hopefully itl update and give me a better outcome.

Thank you all for your replies
Kind regards Jack

Sygic is a company based in Slovakia. Supposedly it uses maps from TomTom - or used to. I have it for my car but seldom use it - its just a backup in case my TomTom doesn't work or goes screwy.
