i have just bought one of these vans and i come to find where the battery goes and hey cannot find one or where one would go?? does any one know where the battery goes and how it hooks into the electrical system, the consumer unit has built into it a transformer and there are 12 volts going in and out but no battery any where! do they work with out one ? yet the fridge has a 12 volt selector on it? can any one shed some light!! also after a lock key for the front compartment and i need a new barrel as the key snapped off in it so i can not lock it any help great appreciated.

It is not common for Continental caravans on their home market to be equipped with a battery. Some may not even have provisions for one. Your Tabbert Comtesse may be one.

If it was made for the German market it wont have a battery.

On site you just plug into the mains, your tansformer will supply you with 12 volts. The 12 volts for the fridge will be for when you are towing, the supply comes from the car if wired up correctly.

Go to a caravan dealer they will be able to supply new barrels.

thanks for that being a qualified spark with my own company !! didnt want to hook a battery in and damage something but that makes sense! just new too caravaning and with a new van!! i,ve tried asking some dealers but they dont deal with tabbert or look at me as if i,ve spoke dutch at them! can you recommend a dealer?
