sorry if it interfered with other posts , it was just purely experimental on my part , and now using my laptop i can see it worked fine , the only drawback was the android keyboard display would not appear on the screen , so i had use a mini key board that was included in a case i bought , Have a good new year every body

Android is the operating System , like you have windows on a laptop or pc , its also the sytem used on mobile phones and ipads , i am only just getting to grips with it , its a very versatile piece of modern technology , mine only has 7" screen but you can get them with a 10" screen , i mainly bought it to take abroad , because i got cheesed off last year opening the case of my laptop and getting every thing out at Heathrow airport then again at Bankok and again at Sydney , then we had the same on our return ,

Seriously not in jest but what merits do you see that a 'tablet' has over a 'netbook'?
Casual observations are that the 'netbook' comes with a hard protective shield over the screen and a keyboard that leaves the screen clear. The tablet needs some additional screen protection and the screen has to serve as a keyboard.
Is it me not being at all 'cool' or am I missing a killer feature?

I guess that the difference in weight must be about a kg so weight not really an issue. Bulk maybe as twice the size of a laptop. Otherwise just a fad I guess. The wife has an iPad 2 for emails, photos and nothing else.

you dont have to use the screen key board on the tablet For £15, or so you can buy a case with a key board , the 10" netbooks are better in my opinion , the only reason i bought a 7" tablet was bulk , if we were going away for a couple of weeks some thing bulky is fine but when you go for 2 months you tend to take a lot of clothes , so you start to look for ways to reduce bulk , if we were going down to Spain with the Caravan like we normally do during the winter i would just take my laptop ,
