I've just got a quote from the CC for red pennant insurance in August when I will be away for 19 days.

Motoring only is £178 and Motoring and personal is £274????

Is this right? I don't remember payting that much last year. I think I took cover out at the last minute before I went to France. I think that was 'about' £100.

1. Join ADAC. I have seen I can get cover here for 44 euros. Yes, there is 'Cover' and 'Cover'.

2. My VW is covered by a pan-european breakdown policy. I'll bet it would not cover my caravan though.

The 44.50 Euro membership fee for the ADAC is for their base coverage in Germany only. It also does not cover the items that I listed elsewehere in this forum in my post of the 11 March. If you want all those items included and full European (in some cases, worldwide) coverage the rate is 79.50 Euros. (This would include your caravan, too).
 
Not that I'm aware of. The only minor problem that others in the UK have experienced is that the ADAC website only allows online payment of the membership fee from a German bank account. Apparently one can pay by credit card, though, by writing or faxing all the relevant details to the ADAC.
 
I am not quite sure why you are paying so much for Red Pennant. I have the same this year for 120 days away and it is
 
We have had Red pennat annual insurance. When we wanted to take our daughter with us just for a two week holiday last year we had to pay and have her put on the policy for the whole year.

They wouldn't do it for the tow weeks away rip off.
