Tent style awning

I noticed an awning in a mag the other day that worked just like a tent, bendy fibreglass poles and all. Can anyone tell me if they are worth looking at? We have the regular awning for the van but a quick fix for a weekend would be great.

Hi Andy

we have a Herzog Explorer which we use with our Eriba - it is a drive away awning which is designed for use with Eribas and VW campervans, so probably too small for a regular caravan.

they are also a bit expensive just for weekend use, but there are lots of cheaper options - have a look at:

We have just bought a Sunncamp Scenic Plus.

Tried it out yesteday in the garden. VERY easy to erect.

Check out ebay for good deals on new ones.

Although we have a full sized awning we wanted a porch awning for weekends etc.The space inside this awning is very good.

Many thanks to you all for your advise. Think we'll try a Suncamp and see how it goes. Always got the regular awning for longer stays.
