Tewksbury CC site

Just got set up at Tewsbury, and having a nice cuppa.

What a lovely site, 3/4 full at the mo and quiet. No Grass cutting going on at present Ian. Never been inthe area before so any must see or do will be appreciated

Hi, glad you like the site.

All depends what you like doing. If the weather stays good the fruit tree blossom should be coming out around Evesham; the Cotswolds aren't very far away - Cirencester, Bibury, Northleach which has a very good rural museum right on the A40; NT at Snowshill Manor (best check opening); Malvern hills if you like a walk; Cheltenham for some good shopping - usedto be park and rides, including one at the racecourse - well worth using. There's a working steam railway just north of Cheltenham racecourse and an avaition museum at Staverton between Cheltenham and Gloucester. Cathedrals at Worcester, Gloucester and Hereford. River things at Upton and Tewksbury itself - the abbey is next to the site too.

All this used to be my home area 55 years ago, and is more crowded these days, but I'm sure you'll have a good time

Trucker,

Your'e just up the road from Symonds Yat on the Wye. Go up to Yat rock for a super view across the Wye valley. If you go Sat/Sun the RSPB will be there with their telescopes set up to view the nesting pair of peregrin falcons currently sitting on a clutch of eggs 2 weeks ago when we were there. If these have hatched there will be a lot of activity with the adults feeding their chicks. After leave your car and walk or drive down to the ferry where you will find a very nice waterside lunch oportunity, excellent food and reasonably priced. You can then continue a riverside walk as far as Bibbins bridge or further.
