Following on from the other thread 'the naffest thing in a caravan' - what's the best thing or things in your van, in your opinion?

Mine are - a proper shower cubicle, L shaped seating area and full oven. Shower - always clean and no queues (daughter permitting). L shaped seating area, you can lounge about whilst watching tv with a dog stretched out next to you. Proper oven, invaluable to us.

The best thing in my caravan is the glass cocktail cabinet...(only joking), its got to be the fridge, keeps my Guinness nice and cold, and some other bits and pieces of course,

The best thing is the light switch which turns on the low level light so I can find my way to the loo in the middle of the night having drunk the contents of my fridge.

the best things in my van are the twinbeds with mattress toppers, never had a bad night`s sleep yet. Second although a retro fit is the auto sat dish, push a button wherever you are and there`s corrie, and the wifes happy.

We have one ofthose cool boxes that you plug in and it works a treat. Bought it about 3 years ago and it keeps our drinks lovely and cold even without ice.

Second best purchase was a small fridge freezer. Turn it right down and it is a feeezer otherwise works like an additional fridge.

Sorry, don't got a caravan anymore. But if I did, it would be the large spacious shower. Just thinking that we could be parked in the middle of a field, in the middle of the night and still be able to take a long luxurious shower, blows my mind.

It's the simple things in life that please.

If I want a long luxurious shower I go to the block. If I wanted a quick rinse followed by a soaping with the curtain stuck to my body, followed by a quick rinse, then I would use a caravan shower.

Tried it, didn't like it, haven't got one, each to their own.

Hi Crusader - absolutely delighted with the Aurora, does everything it says on the tin! Build quality and towing generally is excellent. Couple of minor issues require attention under warranty but have agreed with dealer to have them done at service (March). Its one of those vans you just cannot wait to go away in.

Cheers

Same as Lisa - has to be the shower. Ours is not large and we now want an end bathroom setup but even with the one we have, after years of padding off to the shower bocks, flicking a switch and hearing the water heater fire up on a cold crisp morning and knowing that after a cuppa, a fabulous hot shower is available is pure heaven.

Oddly perhaps the other "best thing" for us is the Awning. We live in that perhaps more than the caravan - must be our wanting to hang onto our "tenting roots".

Ditto CliveV on the awning

Also

Removeable carpets - ours have never been used yet.

Kids and me (according to 'er indoors) make it a better idea not to use it.

If I get my way and we get another labby the carpet will still be new when we get rid off the van!

Time for another dog thread....

Lots of space to relax in.

I come as Xl size and just can't get the fascination for towing a bathroom around. If I can shower in comfort with out a need for something like an Armitage Shanks Showroom in tow I can't see how others have problems with compact bathing facilities.

Apart from that, good hot water supply, L shape lounge and 4 hobs, full oven and good sized refrigeration. Not a lover of fixed beds as they are a waste of the limited space in my book.
