The Caravan TV Channel?

This is something that me and the other lng suffering half have pondered over for some time and are quite surprised that no one, be it Practical Caravan/Motorhome, Caravan Club, Caravan and Camping Club and others have never (or have they?) thought of doing...

We think there could be a huge potential market for it, With all sorts from buying new, used, servicing, simple repairs, towing, viewers problems, new gadgets and gizmo's club and non club site reviews, days out, outdoor cooking.. the list goes on! Magazines and websites are great but sometimes, its just great to actually see someone doing say, resealing a window, repairing a floor, showing what water ingress looks like...

I thought i'd hit gold when i saw "The Caravan Channel" on Information TV the other day, and well, being so short (30 minutes) It tried to cram everything in, from a caravan show in london, motorhome, tent, trailer tent and a quick spot in France, but it never actually showed Caravans...

I think a Caravan channel would go down a treat!

Looks possibly like the one I caught. Its only a small little show, Its getting there, but my thought was something that ran for several hours a day, with 30 minute slots for the various items - and the repeats so that everyone has chance to view... I guess if all the big clubs and such could er... get together (wishful thinking!!) to produce a full channel dedicated to caravans, camping, motorhomes and all the other stuff i mentioned...

If the broadcasters want to appeal to a wide audience then perhaps they could have an outdoor leisure channel. I suppose it could even make reference to those funny looking lorry things with windows (but not very often).

Hi Dazicki,

It's just that, I could see another Jeremy Clarkson moment coming up. No offence at all

Val & Frank.

Clarkson can be so funny, and i love watching Top Gear, but heck that guy hates caravans - is it mere co-incidence that "Hamster" on Top Gear also front Brainiac - Scence Abuse - which is another one dedicated to blowing up at least one caravan per show??

But its the whole seeing it done thing - I mean - Awnings - so handy yet the constant reliable source of ritual humiliation, you can pretty much guarantee that the peole accross get out the deckchairs, to settle in for a right good laugh - then around midnight ish, under the cover of darkness, put theirs up!

Have you ever noticed that? you wake up in the morning and think "where the heck did all those awnings come from?!"
