Hi to you all. Well, I went along to Consett yesterday ( Saturday ) to have a look at the 2015 ranges.
The 142miles run in my Tea-tray with wheels (BMW Z3 2.0ltr Auto) left me with a very definite need to exercise my buttock muscles and walk.
It was no surprise to see that the mainstream of their stable had all been switched over to ride on an AlKo chassis - that is all but the Buccaneer range.
I went specifically to look at the 2015 Crusader SuperSirocco & Storm, along with the Compass Rallye 634.
Elddis have joined the barrage of front 'Skylight Windows'/Panels but unlike one or two out there they are not as 'In Your Face' as some.
All-in-all the new ranges plus the total make over that has been carried out, produced a real image of Corporate Unity across the many caravans on display.
There was a very definite impression of improvements to door fastenings/handles or at least in the ones that I ventured into.
I did not look at/into any Motorhomes - I simply have absolutely no interest in them.
I certainly hope that their 12yrs of Pre-SoLiD issues with cracking of the aluminium skins are behind them and they can move forward and continue with some of the best designed interiors in the business - short of paying a great-deal more for a bespoke build from a very small number of UK individual caravan manufacturers.
I have been told by a fairly knowledgeable chap that there have also been improvements to the attitude and the way in which we "the buying public and providers of their jobs and income are viewed and will be dealt with when it comes to issues that previously were seemingly dealt with a on "Go Swivel" basis.
From what I have read across the various forums and one in particular it is to be hoped that they have also had a serious reappraisal of the dealers that they have - after-all they are the initial voice of Elddis/The Explorer Group.
