Does anyone remember the old 1950/60's Harley Davidson with the gear change on the petrol tank and running boards on either side.

A friend and I fitted a 600cc Panther engine into a smaller frame and used to run it around the local streets. Talk about a “thumper” no need for a rev meter. No exactly the most stable combination, but we had fun nevertheless.

I was on a tube in London a few years back and the only people talking were a couple of businessmen and me ( all from up north) You see it everywhere, even 'old folk' (60+) have earbuds or headphones on when out walking the one exception I see is the conductor of the black **** band as he goes for his morning constitutional I often wonder what psychologists make of this trend re social cohesion

I was doing some research to write up a life story for the kids and had this article as a referenced link. It’s about the scene in Leicester in the early 1960s. I guess many of the older Forumites may well have similar experiences. For the record I felt Bob Dylan was overrated 😱

In our South African newspapers the clashes between the Mods and the Rockers were often reported. I can remember pictures in our Cape Argus showing them fighting on Brighton beach. To us kids it was horrifying!
