I commented to Mrs V. yesterday as we prepared for our latest trip that by the end of the season we were pretty slick at loading and getting hitched up. Shouldn't have said that because I unlocked the caravan for her to put the last few things in then couldn't find the keys again. I spent over 90mins looking for them, only to discover them on the kitchen worktop under a cloth.

Anyway we got on the road only to discover Mrs. V had left her hot water bottle at home...to far along to turn back.

On site, got onto pitch and reversed up the levelling ramp with the motor mover. Released the motor mover only to see caravan roll down ramp as I'd forgot to put handbrake on. I think I got away with it as no one was watching.

Water pump wouldn't start despite checking it before we left. Cleaned contacts but some water shorted them and blew a fuse. Swapped radio fuse for water pump fuse....must get spares.

Toilet cistern pump didn't work, again, despite being checked before leaving. Usual clog up which took just a few minutes to coax into life.

What next I wonder.....

I am getting ready for two weeks in Hayle, Cornwall, despite checking everything over, and placing items( EHU cable, water hoses, toilet fluids, BBQ legs, ) and other items that I have forgotten before, in the garage. I worry as to what I have forgotten

Not really but just to round off the day and an indication of the quality of build of caravans, one of the kitchen drawers just fell off it's runner as I was cooking dinner. Fortunately I came with many screwdrivers and it just needs the screw refitting.

Tune in tomorrow.....

I arrived at Scone today at 2.00, got everything set up rather quickly. Realised the fridge wasn't getting cool, light on but no chill. Checked fuse it was OK. Then looked at the panel, I had only flicked 2 of the breakers, must be age thing. Downside is cold 🍺 will be late tonight.

Dinner uneventful and nice. Didn't burn it, run out of gas, nor spill it down me, which amazed Mrs V.

If you're interested its an easy dish. Just two pans.

Creamy Mushroom Pasta.

A couple of leeks, thinly sliced and sauted.

Mushrooms, sliced and added to leeks when they are done.

Saute both until mushrooms cooked.

Add white wine...100ml for the two of us. Reduce it down.

When wine reduced add 100ml of cream, I use Elmlea Double. Add liberal amount of pepper.

Simmer for a few minutes while boiling a kettle of water for the pasta.

Hot water into pan and bring to boil. Add pasta.... I use fresh Tagliatelle.

When pasta done mix in with sauce, check seasoning and if ok serve.

Top with Parmesan if you like.

Sounds nice Sam πŸ‘Œ I made a pot of mince last night with carrot πŸ₯•, onions 🌰, and peas πŸ«› in it. Boiled some tatties to have with it. Just had it, now waiting on tinnies chilling.
