Hi all, the full light has packed up, I have 3 days of warranty left, the dealer said to me (about 6 months ago) that it's common, they all do. Van is a Bailey Senator Oklahoma (2004) and had 1 years warranty from 1st Aug last year. I guess what he was saying is 'It's too big a cost so go away and don't come back'. It doesn't bother me at all, but it worked when I bought it, and what's a warranty for?!!

It's just one of those things I've suddenly remembered at the last moment! Doh!!

Cheers, Gary

Gary, I would insist on him repairing the light, it is after all, under warranty, and you have reported it well within the warranty period.

As for his comment about "they all do it", that is not true, they do not "ALL" do it.

The problem is going to be either the float switch in the cassette having been shaken loose from its fitting by over enthusiasm when shaking and emptying the cassette,

OR the reed switch has somehow become faulty,

OR the LED indicator light has failed.

Of all 3 parts that may be needed, not one costs more than about

i know this sounds obvious , but have you checked the small batteries inside the cassette compartment ,sometimes the contacts get corroded

The float mechanism holds a small circular magnet, and this causes the light to come on when the tank is near full. It is very easy to lose this, as shaking the tank during emptying can dislodge it quite easily, as it is only held in place by plastic clips which can be overcome by the force of shaking. I discovered this luckily by moticing a rattle in the bottom the tank whilst emptying (whch is hardly something you expect!). I managed to retrieve, and refit it, this time with a fine tie wrap, and it still functions fine. Its not an easy or pleasant job though
