Hi,

I did a posting a few weeks back about the drainage system on the Thetford c200CW fresh water (pink) header tank that states you pull out the bung and the water runs out all over your shoes and the floor and into the waste tank holding area,(Not their words mine)not a good idia relly even though they state to place a container under the bung area to catch the fluid.

Well since then I spoke to Thetford and they stated that at this moment in time they were not going to produce a drain tube for that type of toilet.

After discussions with there customer service department they agreed to send me 3 bungs FOC to try a modification. This they did. The modification is as follows buy a replacement bung (Part No 2321274) and cut of the grip piece from the top then drill a 1/4" hole through the bug top and insert a 1/4" hose into this and seal the surrounding area of the bung internally but not the hose with clear setting silicone. I have put a in line on/off valve made by hozelock to open and close the water flow (used in the microbore watering systems). The length of hose depends on the drop from your header tank to approx floor level but enough to get the hose into your wastemaster. No more wet shoes Etc

These bungs are available from a company called Miriad Products Ltd

Dove Vally Park.

Or try your local dealer who should be able to supply them via thetford.

Finally I would like to thank the customer service team at thetford for their assisstance and very curtious manner in solving this irritating problem.

Rob, I too think that this type of drainage is poor, what I do is flush the toilet till empty and job done, in the winter I do take the bung out ad try to put something under it to stop the fluid going everywhere.

Prahaps you could take some photos of your invention and post them, or name your price and sell them!!

Hi John,Hope you are well,

I agree that the old system on the c2 was a little antiquated but I modified that system so when emptying the fresh tank I would pull out the clear indicator hose and put on an extention so the pink again went into wastemaster. The modification on the C200 works well enough but its flow is a little slow, but I am sure I won't be watching it empty I will be off doing something else or having a brew. I will photograph the mod and attach it to a post.

Off to C & C site at Southport over the weekend, first time out with the van. Quick question about the Al-Ko tow ball, I know it has to be spotless clean which I do with emery cloth and a squirt of brake cleaner, but how do you stop it rusting between uses or is just a matter of Oh well as I can,t use any form of grease or lubricant such as WD40 and the cover is always on?

Also have you any thoughts on the Ventura awnings, as I am almost certain that my Dorema cannot be extended from 900cm to 1008cm and I have been offered a good trade in price for the Dorema against a Ventura Atlantic.

Take care

Rob

Hi Rob I just use a cheap and cheerful plastic tow ball cover and there doesn't seem to be much rusting even over the winter

We have had a Ventura porch awning for 6 years and we use it on the long holiday each year.

Its the poor man's Isabella and as the IXL poles are the same and the fabric is excellent it just seems to be minus the round window for almost 1/2 the price.
