I would just remove the battery. You can see when the toilet is getting full so why they bothered with the light i do not know.

Would have been more use if it told you when the flush water was getting low as you only find out when it's to late.

Interesting - one of my little caravan tinkering jobs for this weekend is to re-solder the battery holder leads so the light works again!

The "Woosie Tank Almost Full" light has never worked in the seven years we've had this van, and it's a minor irritation for me. It's a good point that a low level warning on the flush tank would be a more useful innovation - as the van is now well out of warranty I'll get my thinking cap on and see if I can come up with something over the winter :)

Gozza - lots of cars have float devices in the cooling system to warn of low fluid - perhaps this might be a source of inspiration. Or thinking some more, the water level indicator used in on-board water tanks? Like you I feel a gadget coming on...

I suspect the quick and easy solution might be a sight glass similar to the level indicators for Aquarolls, like this:

But I'm keen on a more elegant solution if possible - maybe an electronic detector that utilisies the existing "tank almost full" light to instead indicate "flush tank low". That should confuse any future owbers of the caravan!!!
