Thetford fridge 112

Please can you help. Our fridge is working intermittently. The repair man could find nothing wrong with it and doubted it was the PCB board. Sometimes it will work for hours and then all of a sudden up comes the error code 12, as happened this morning. Switched everything off left it for 10 minutes, switched back on and appears to be working again but when you open the fridge door all the control panel lights go out as though switched off and the internal light does not work. Also a couple of times when we switch radio on, the fridge goes off. This could just be coincidence. Any suggestions before hubby's beer warms up. Many thanks

Error code 12 is a 12vDC input issue.
The fridge must have a good 12v DC input available to operate the electronics.
What van do you have? What electronic distribution system is fitted?
Have you checked the battery voltage to confirm that the charger is working?

Hi - the van is a Swift Challenger 480 2007. We have a new 115 battery. We have a AC50 control panel and it is a NE2006-CWS power supply unit. Thanks for coming back to me.

So, you have the infamous Nordelettronica distribution system which is very well known for failing.
You really need to check several things to either prove or disprove a fault with the system and the very best person to talk to is Paul at Apuljack Engineering ( Freephone: 0800 078 7081 )

Switch every thing off on car and caravan except fridge and car engine,get someone to rev the engine to 1500 to 2000 rpm and see if the fridge is working.
