Hello, the fridge works fine on 240v. It lights on gas and there is a good flame, however it gets very warm at the vent and around the back of the fridge but doesn't cool inside. When lit I thought there was an initial roar with the button pressed in and upon release it died down now it roars and stays roaring and never cycles off even when the fridge is packed with ice bolcks. Any ideas?
Thanks

There may some very modern fridges that actually turn the gas on and off reigniting each time, but certainly most continue to burn as long as it's turned on, and the modulate the flame size according to demand, so continuing to burn is probably normal.

What is not clear is if the fridge is modulating, and if not why not. One simple reason could be the inside of the fridge is still warmer than the setting dialed in at the control so the control keeps the burner operating at high power.

Because the fridge still apparently works when connected to 230Vac, that confirms the refrigerant is still present and working, but not on gas, so this is beginning to suggest the burner may be damaged in some way.

I strongly reccomend you get the caravan checked by an approved caravan engineer who should be able to check and verify what the problem may be, and repair it.

Thanks for replying, sorry it's taken ages to get back we've had some sort of stomach bug. Any ideas about what part of the fridge modulates the flame? And can anyone recommend someone in the Norwich area who is capable of diagnosing and repairing the fault.
Thanks

Is this a new model? We had a similar complaint about the fridge on a new caravan some time back and was told it was faulty and it was replaced by the dealer. Oddly enough he said the second one they fitted from a caravan in stock was also faulty and needed a third one before they got one that worked.
