Thetford Fridge

I am having a problem with the 12v supply in my Thetford Fridge when working on 12v. The blue light comes on then starts flashing with warning 10 which says the car is not switched on. it is and all the fuses are fine in the Caravan and Car. The blue light then goes continuous for a few seconds which is what it should before flashing again, it also makes clicking noises. Apart from this the fridge is great and works fine on both elec and gas.

Any help would be appreciated

I`m new so may be wrong in this but ive read that the fridge will only run on 12volts from the car when the engine is actually running.

Must check that fact out for myself next time we go away

The car engine is switched on, but the problem is the power source seems insufficient to run fridge. i have emailed Thetford today so may no more soon.

Andrew,

You may want to re-run your test with the car engine running above idle speed - about 2000 rpm should be enough to make sure that the alternator is producing full output.

From the flashing warning and clicking it appears that this is a voltage problem - it may be that you can get the voltage sensor adjusted - or maybe the 12 V wiring or 12S connector is introducing a voltage drop

Thanks for the info. I thought it had to be something to do with the voltage. still waiting for a reply from Thetford.
