Thread Size

Hi,

Can anyone let me know what the thread size is on the drain plug on my water heater,feels like the heater thread may have been damaged at sometime always bad to srew in and out..

Pre June 1987 the 'cross head' drain bung was 1/2" BSP after that I've no idea...certainly not any standard thread I've come across?!

1/2" BSP is the same thread as any corner of a domestic radiator so fairly easy to get something made of harder metal than aluminium to run down and clean up.

Or and for the other I use a 12 bore barrel cleaner which does a cracking job in a battery drill, about
