Tiguan r line dsg any good

Hello all, I recently upgraded to a Tiguan r line DSG AUTO 2.0 4 motion, could anyone please give me any advice to whether it is good at towing as this will be my primary tow car.

If I was changing my primary tow car I would ask the question first. Let's hope the replies you get are positive.

Currently not towing at the minute, but what i have heard they are strong reliable cars....

Hi, We have had a Tiguan177 DSG since last Dec.I am in late. 70's & thought I was tired of changing gears. Had a Tiguan140 for two years prior to this car. All I can say is the car has been fantastic, have done 8900 miles since new, & kept record of fuel. We have done 25% towing & yearly average is 34.5 mpg, by itself average is 42 mpg.We tow a Bailey Genoa2 2013 It tows very well no trouble acceleration or lack of power. Been to France twice this year ( each time is the last) & both times fuel came out at 34 mpg. Been towing for just over 40 years. We would have no hesitation in buying another Tiguan.

I think you are correct for the auto 5 speed.
But not sure about the 9 speed zf due next year.

The manual is 2000kg towing limit at least.
