Hello to all,

We live near Carcassonne in southern France and have passed our UK reg Motorhome to one of our sons rather than try to reregister it here. He is making good use of it at the motorcycle 6 hour endurance race at Zolder this weekend with the Phase 1 team.

We have had 2 caravans in the 70s and 80s, a Sprite and a Tabbert Comtesse, but in 1986 bought a Hymer 534 Motorhome and have had 20 years of winter visits to southern Europe. The advantage of old age is the freedom it gives you. 5 motorcaravans in that time for various reasons.

Have now ordered an Eriba Triton, having only a small car and looking forward to visiting our usual haunts in Spain and Portugal in the winter.

Nice to find such a busy forum.

Hi James and welcome to the forum.

I'm currently reading a book written by Terry Darlington about his exploits of sailing his narrow boat across the channel and downthrough France to Carcassonne. The boat was called the Phylis May.

You'll find amusement a plenty and advise abound on the forum.

Both his lordship and I are from the cider county of Herefordshire.

Steve.

Hi JamesFrance

we also have an Eriba, a Familia 310 and there are a couple of other Eriba owners who contribute to the forum - notibly Rob_Jax.

also of use is this website: http://www.eriba-amiga.co.uk/index.html which is run by Rob, who is EXTREMELY helpful and informative of the world of Eribas.

Steve I tried to read that book quite recently but never finished it and gave it back to the friend who lent it to us.

We chose to live here because we much enjoyed going through the canal du midi in sailing yachts in 1970 and 1972.

Until fairly recently we were living on a 70 ft Narrowboat which we had built in 1999. We based it at Chirk and wintered in Spain mainly.

Thanks,

James

Thanks Mark, I have already found eriba amiga and the msn group. People have been very helpful answering queries, as I had enough trouble placing the order for the Triton in my version of French, so I couldn't really discuss the options available.
