To Heat or not to Heat.......

Greetings to you all, now we are entering the autumn and as temperatures start to fall, and this being our first year of owning a caravan - can anyone tell me if we need to heat the caravan every now and then and if so how often, better still are there any tips on over-wintering units ? our caravan is in the drive so its close to hand - any advise greatfuly recieved,

over to the experts.........
 
Caravan for 12 months of the year then there is no need to winterise,plenty of sites open all year start as you mean to go on .............................

hmmmmm 1 boss, 3 kids and two dogs might say different - i would be up for it but can`t see the rest of the troops going with much vigour !!!
 
I have a fan heater set on the frost setting, which is also on a timer for cheap night rate. Having tried with and without over the winter I find that a little heat does keep it that bit better, whether its worth the cost is up to the indivual.
 
Sean what i do overwinter is remove all seating to the loft drain all water remove all clothing /bedding .jack up van ,turn wheels quarter turn every 5/6 weeks, chock wheels, release handbrake,cover van if you want, thats all i do NO heater required .never had any problems .good luck
