Toiet sachets /tabs

Does anybody use toilet tablets or sachets in the waste holding tank as opposed to liquid, and if so which brand, seems they are available from Thetford, Elsan or Dometic, I like the idea of a measured dose and no chance of spilling blue liquid when topping up.

We have used the Dometic green ones, and the Thetford green ones. Of the two, we prefer the Dometic. Certainly less faff than a liquid but more expensive. I don’t think either are as good at odour control as Green Elsan fluid. Not tried Elsan tabs.

We use the Thetford teabags, but be aware, they will make your teeth blue.

Joking aside, I agree that there is little chance of spillage damage, and they are far lighter to carry, but they do still stain if you get the powder on your hands. Just wish they did a pink variety too.

We have tried them, not as effective to my mind as Fluids, we use Elsen Double blue. Have also tried the use of Bio clothes washing Tabs, that was a thought a couple of years ago. We are back to the Elsen liquid.

We to also only use Elsan Blue , then after it all cleaned out and ready to go back to storage touch of water with a cap full in and just leave it in there smelling fresh . 🙂

Never tried them as they look expensive. Aldi sell the fluid from time to time and I have used that but whatever is cheap when I need it goes in.

Use neither, simply use a biological laundry liquid, have for many years, cheap, readily available and very effective, at this duty. Colleagues use the bio laundry tabs, expressing the same satisfaction, but I have never felt the need to spend on the extra cost of using these.
"One wash" shot per empty cassettes charge.
Other than cost savings an additional bonus is a scale free cassette, the original incentive to adopted it.

Tried the tablets some years ago. OK but no improvement on the fluids and if the sachet gets the slightest tear or pinhole in the outer, the tablet takes in atmospheric moisture and degenerates int o a gooy mess.
More recently I've changed to Fenwicks Top and Tail which uses same fluid for holding tank and flush, is green and stains and smells much less and seems to retain it's detergent action longer than the others.
Halfords sometimes have a good deal, s especially if you buy 6 at a time as we do for Continental use.

I used to use Top and Tail when it first came out and whilst it worked well the fragrance was a bit off. Wonder if it’s been reconfigured. These days we use Onechem, or Unichem if purchased from abroad. It has a measuring dispenser built in and does both tanks.
