Toilet cleaning

Hi, does anyone know what you can clean caravan toilets with, we were advised not to use bleach - have used fairy liquid type cleaner, but can still smell the bowl and around the toilet seat etc. We use the chemical toilet stuff and the flush stuff it's just really for cleaning after use.

Thanks

Pauline

Hi Polly

We use Fendox which comes in a spray bottle for cleaning the toilet bowl and seat.

It is non abrasive so it doesn't leave scratches and it is safe to use on the plastics in caravans.

Hi Polly,

Just a tip - I had this problem and found that I had to remove the toilet seat to get it really clean. Once I did this all smelling sweet and nice. Assuming its a thetford, (mine has the swivel bowl) the seat just pulls off of clips. Proceed carefully though.

Yes, I do a thorough clean by removing the seat every so often.

We have the C250 newish design, it has so many difficult to clean crevices, it must have been designed by someone who never has to clean a toilet!

Also by a man. Men of course believe that nothing sprays anywhere, nothing splashes, that their aim is perfect and toilet brushes work simply by their very presence.
