Hi all!

I have noticed that the main two clubs mentioned on this forum are the C.C and the C&CC. Are any of you out there members of/have been members of, the Touring Caravan Club as well?

What were your experiences? We would like to know(good or bad) before we part with our hard earnt cash.

Hi laird Al,

Got to be honest and admit that prior to reading your post I had never heard of the touring caravan club!

I've since had a quick look at their website and would say that joining their club would depend on whether you enjoy rallying or not. I also noted they said in their "about us" topic page that they cover all of the UK but their section area seem to be only in England - not much good to us north of the border ( or perhaps our Welsh colleagues)

Seems to be for ralliers based in England. A lot of caravanners do enjoy this type of break, down to personal preference.

We were members of the TCC about 8 or 9 years ago, so I may well be out of date with my views.

We went on only a few rally's with the TCC, and found them all to be well run. The organisation was very good on each one we attended.

It suits some people to be up until about 2 or 3 in the morning, drinking and socialising. It didnt suit us, so we never re-joined. As I say, it might be different now.

Hi Phil

Which section were you a member of ? I was a member of the Vale of Trent till last year and was the section sec .I gave it up due to health reasons. You say about drinking till 2-3 in the morning , this all stopped some time ago, all venues have to be vacated at 12pm now unless there is a extention when it goes on till 1 am

The Touring Caravan Club TCC used to be called the Trailer Caravan Club and changed the name 3-4 years ago to bring it more up to date. It was called Trailer Caravan Club because they only have trailer tents and caravans and not family tents, although i think in this day and age when camping is on the increase in a big way they should take a look at theai poicy as they must be loosing a lot of members to the CCC.
