In September we are off via Dunkerque to Nante to visit family. We are looking for interesting places to stop at, visit for one or two nights on the way down and back again. We thought of the route via Rouen and Le Mans. Does anyone know of good sites, great places to visit (for a pair of 50 year old anoraks) or alternative routes that might be useful. Info about tolls would be helpful too. Thanks.

Hi Anne

It was about 25 years ago when I went touring with my parents to Nantes and La Baule. I can remember crossing a hugh bridge in or around Nantes and it cost a fortune to go over, not show if that's changed now.

We went to Quimper and Bendoet 10 years ago and stayed on a keycamp site, that was very nice although I am not sure if they take tourers.

We visited Carnac, and a lovely town with the a castle / town wall around the village butI cannot remember what its called now(hubby can remember he's in work), I will ask him and post it later.

Sorry cannot be of any more help.
