Touring in France

We hope take our van over to France next year for our first continental trip with the caravan. We have absolutely no idea where to head for except that my husband wants to visit the "trenches" and then we want to head off to a lovely beach area but have no idea where to go - any ideas you well traveled caravaner's????

Depends on time of year. The Imperial War Graves Commission has an excellent website if you are trying to trace relatives. tge WW2 invasion beaches between Cherbourg and Caen are also well worth a visit.

By about June the beaches down the west coast should be fine if you are hardy (I'm not) but don't overlook some of the larger inland lakes which have some form of beach without all the wind.

Pick a few places from the map that look promising and then Google them. if you go ourside school holidays is is rarely necessary to book.
