Tow ball height

I am new to touring and have bought a Pageant Champagne to be towed with my Astra Estate SRi 1.9 Diesel 150hp. I have not had the tow bar fitted yet but am concerned that the rear looks low.

Can I get a type of tow ball that will give me extra height to help level the van when it's on the tow ball? I have heard rear suspension alterations/tweaks being talked about, what options are there?

I don't want to get a tow bar fitted, find it's too low and realise I would have been better having a different one fitted.

Any advise would be much appreciated.

In the case of an Astra (i.e. a non-4x4) the height of the towball is covered by regulation and should be 350 to 420 mm to centre of ball when the car is fully laden. If the towball is lower, either there is something wrong with the suspension or the wrong towbar has been fitted.

Thanks I wasn't aware of that.

That must mean then that either the lowered suspension still keeps the standard astra estate towbar up to the required height or that there is a different towbar for the SRI version of the Astra.
