Congrats on the new car, In my opinion it is always much better to go with a renowned brand of bar, e.g. Witter, Westfalia Bosal to name three. I personally have always had Witter without any issue what so ever and on brand new cars too without any issues with the vehicle warranty. I prefer to use a wiring kit dedicated to the vehicle. That is not to say from the manufacturer of the car but a wiring kit which is plugged into your cars existing wiring rather than being spliced in. With modern vehicles it usually makes it that the car can be programmed to recognise that a trailer is connected. In My Octavis, having the dedicated loom from Rightconnections, means that the dreaded reversing sensors are turned off when the van is connected, but more usefull i find is that the cars Electronic Stability Control changes over automatically to Trailer Stability Control. A dedicated loom is more costly but i think worth the investment, particularly if you intend to hang onto the car for several years.
