i have a toyota estima lucida 2.2 td and i am unable to find its noseweight in the owners manual.i have an mardon classique 1988 at the moment and would like to buy a new caravan at the show in february but would like to check my towcar is capable of towing a new caravan the mtplm is 1401kg

Your car is the equivalent to the Toyota Previa, so your Toyota dealer should be able to advise the weights. As your's is what could be called a "grey import" I don't know how Toyota UK feel, but I do know Mitsibushi cut up funny over my father in laws grey import version of their people carrier. But by asking about the Previa you should be ok.

You should find the maximum permissible noseweight on the type approval plate on the towbar.

As Steve has suggested, grey imports can be a problem. Because the Lucida is basically a 'narrow' version of the Previa, the underbodies will be similar but not necessarily identical. Technical specs for the Previa can therefore at best be used as a guideline but not as definitive for the Lucida, too.
