Towcar

Hi Guys,

I am a new member and was told if i posted my van and towcar that my match ratio will be checked.

The van is a Abbey GT 516 around 12 years old i think, the tow car is a Mitstubishi Pajero LWB (Import) 2.8 diesel.

Thanks

Martin

You give relatively little information to go by but it is relatively easy to check match ratio yourself. Both the maker's plate and the owner's handbook should tell you the maximum laden weight (nowadays referred to as the MTPLM) of the caravan. To get a really accurate figure for the unladen weight of the Mitsubishi you will have to have it weighed (any published figure can only be an approximate one). Once you've got those 2 figures, just divide the one by the other and that's the weight ratio.

I would guess that the MTPLM of the Abbey is around 1300kg and the kerbweight of your Pajero about 1950kg which would give you a weight ratio of 67%. Even if those figures aren't quite right, they should be roughly of that order.
