In July, I am due to change my car. I have a Bailey Pageant Mosselle 4 berth and am looking at buying a people carrier due to the unpaid taxi service provided to my sons and their friends. The obvious choices are between the Ford Galaxy, Renault Espace and Peugot 807.

Has anybody got any observastions that they would like to pass on to help me in my deliberations.

Hi there, we have a Mitsubishi Spacewagon (now replaced by the Grandis) that is great. Kerb weight of just over 1500kg, it tows like a dream. The great thing is that it just looks like an oversize estate, not the average school run car, and has 7 seats. Works on the same principle of the Zafira, but a foot longer for real room, and can seat adults in all the seats with ease.

Hello Keith, I personnally use a Renault Grande Espace 2.2 diesel, and find it to be an excelent towcar as well as meeting the other domestic needs. Towing anything up top 2000Kg, it performs very well. I went for the Espace Grande becuse of the extra space which makes a big difference when moving 6 passengers with luggage (ususaly to and from Scout camps).

I am sure otehr makes will also tow well, simply becuse of their extra size and weight compared to cars or estates. Go for diesel, it makes a big difference on the economy front, without too much loss of performance.
