towing car

I have a Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin SWB 1.8 Petrol. It's kerb weight is 1255kgs and its max towing capacity (braked)is 1500kgs. I want to tow an old AA braked exhibition trailer, the unladen weight of which is 880kgs and max laden weight is 1500kgs. I will be refitting the trailer to use as a mobile retail unit. Before I fit a towbar I wanted to check if this car was suitable to tow this weight easily or will it struggle. Thanks

Be ever so careful Jo, although the manufacturer states that the car's tow limit is 1500kg, this is over 200kg more than it's kerbweight, and you could easily end up with the tail wagging the dog, and have the trailer go into a snake, especially in high winds and down hills. Try not to load the trailer to more than 85-90% of the car's kerbweight to be on the safe side.
