Towing Electricks on an 03plate Toyota Rav 4

Hi, Doese any body know if the Toyota Rav4 on a 03 plate need the 7 way bypass relay, I can't seem to find out anywhere, the websites I've looked at say to fit one on most cars, but I can't find any bulb failure device on the car and it all seems normal wiring, not can bus or anything like that, it's my sister in laws car and cost is needed to be kept down
 
May be worth posting on the Rav4 forum of toyotaownersclub.com We're a friendly and helpful bunch. Towbar wiring does come up from time to time. Can't answer the question myself as it was dealer fitted from new on my 2002 petrol model.
 
Thanks I'll look it up, how do you find the petrol for towing, I have concerns about it's torque, it seems a bit flat, when she's following me on hills she always drops back, and that's without a caravan in tow, what weight is your van how do you find it?
 
Can't comment as I've never towed the van with it (don't ask) only camping trailers but there are people on the website I mentioned that will help.
