As a general rule if your caravan is wider than your towing vehicle extended mirrors are a legal requirement Alex.

YES, but no, if your vehicle is a cetain width and your caravan is a cetain width then no.
dont know what the sizes are but i to with a sportage and can see the back of my van but still legally need towing mirrors.
search the dvla and the site will give you the legal reqwuirement.

Yes you still need towing mirrors. Its not worth the fine the boys in Blue are getting a bit hot on this now with all these new caravan owners now out on the roads there having a field day.
