At the moment the full new for old cover with the Caravan Club Insurers demands that a twin axle has a Tracker device fitted and working. There is a discount given.
I'm sure if I opted for a straight indemnity type policy the requirement may be rescinded. Thus the sum insured would reduce from £28500 to £12000. Probably another Insurer may be different but imo the CC offer one of the best covers with the least hard attitude.

We have a new for old policy with the Caravan club on our twin axle and we dont have to have a tracker fitted anymore for them to insure us?
The discount with tracker is £68, we don't even say that we have wheel clamps fitted as BOTH have to be fitted all the time even when away etc which we dont do.

There must be double standards at the CC. When my renewal comes through later in the year I'll take them to task.

I insure with the CC and have a discount for the wheel lock. However, they offer a discount for the factory fitted alarm but I don't claim it because I do not leave a battery in the van during storage. They no longer offer discounts for hitch locks. I don't believe there are double standards, you just tell them what security devices you honestly use.
