Anybody in that jam last night on M25 to Dartford?.we left Harlow M11 at 1800 hrs and was still at Lakeside 2300 hrs, finally got home to Hastings 0.45 am and normally that joutrney takes hour and a half to two hours. Strangely enough when we wet through the tunnel instead of the bridge we were almost on our own, apart from a couple of hgv and cars , where did they all go to?.

Sounds like you had the bridge closed as you had to use the tunnel = 4 lanes into 2

Went over last Friday morning and sailed over, didn't stop at all.

hi why do they still insist on us paying toll when bridge closed and 4 lanes goes down to 2 , same happened last year on a booze and sighseeing weekend, left with plenty of time but missed ferry by 4 hours ferry then had cheek to charge us extra to catch later ferry , when got on ferry there was only about 10 of us on it

just a thought

did you know that when a toll bridge/tunnel,tolls has paid for its building that its supposed to be handed over the to government and be toll free

guess what......the dartford crossing was paid for by the tolls about 5yrs ago but the government changed the law so users are paying for a bridge/tunnel which should be free

do you think the english government will adopt the scottish governments idea to abolish tolls? the forth and sky road bridges are now toll free

just a thought

It was the Headline that got me. "Traffic Jam M25"

From my (thankfully now gone)many years of travelling the motorways... I thought the M25 WAS the Jam! LOL

Now up here in West Walesthat 15 minute que into Haverfordwest is a major bug bear, sigh....

They now call the bridge/tunnel fee a "congestion charge". The fact that the toll booths are the only cause of the congestion seems to have been overlooked.
