My friends will be travelling down to Spain in early January through France need sites that are open in January I have suggested they travel down A20 as A75 could be a problem with snow any ideas of any sites open all year not far off motorways on the way down there is a site north of Limoges at Montrelles at a Municipal which seems to be open all year and is just off the motorway and they will be able to stay hooked up for one night any ideas any further down. They have a small fifth wheeler which is not very easy to back into many pitches.

All suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

Our first stop is at Poiters and then at St Jean de Luz on the Spanish border. This is usually a snow free route, and no tolls. Apart from them there is a site at Payrac south of Briveas well as Beaune.

Depending where you are going in Spain follow Grahams Advice. From St jean de luz go Pamplona, Zaragoza, Valencia and then either north or south on the coast to choice.

There are very few sites open in January on this route so be prepared for a longish day.

Savinan / Sabinan listed in CC Europe under Calatayud south of Zaragoza, Manazanera and Navajas further towards Valencia and Moncofa on the coast - all in the book. Note that navajas can be very difficult for long outfits and Manzanera very busy at weekends - winter sports area. Almost all 4 lane from St jean to Valencia and not too much HGV traffic beyond Pamplona. Not too many service areas so fill up on half tank. But, open easy roads, very little traffic compared with Med. coast autopista round Barcelona.

If early Januauary look for MB 270 4x4 + Burstner van and give us a toot !
