Hi Jo-anne this is a lovely site, pitches are a good size and not all in a row. The approach road is quite narrow but its worth it when you get there. Good area close to Newquay. Hope you have a lovely time. Mandy

Jo-anne

I hear on the grapevine there are a gang of 10 teenagers due at Treamble when you are there. They are under strict instructions to intimidate you and your family and have all night raves around your caravan and Santa Fe. They are particularly looking forward to dancing on your caravan roof as it is said by Bailey their roofs can carry human beings. These youths also do not expect to be in bed much before 7.00am. They also enjoy hard ball and paint ball. Good luck mate.

Cheers

Hi Jo-anne

Ha Ha Ha no it wasn't this site but it is quite near by.

I live in Cornwall and I think that it has some of the nicest campsites plus you don't have to travel far for a weekend away.

Never had a bad time apart from the one mentioned which has caused quite a stir on this forum hasn't it? Hope you have a good time.

mandy, i hope you dont mind a few questions as you are localish to newquay.

would you rather go to treamble valley or an all singing all dancing site like hendra or trevornick?.

also you did say the approach road to the site was narrow do you go in a tunnel under the main road to get to the site?.

will we be okay with a twin axel 26ft and 7ft 6 wide?.

can you also give me some ideas on where to take the kids etc.

thanks mate

Hi Jo-anne I would rather go to treamble valley than Hendra or Trevornick as I don't like sites that are all singing all dancing. When we first started going to campsites I would only go to ones like Hendra but have since found that I prefer ones that are quieter. My favourite site over that way is Silverbow Park at Goonhavern it is a beautiful landscaped park with rabbits literally everywhere! It has a swimming pool undercover and is just perfect.

The approach road is quite narrow but not to bad, I see you have a big caravan like us. I don't remember going in a tunnel

you head towards Newquay from A30 and turn off down what is known locally as the (big dipper) a massive down then up hill. Then you follow this road for a little way its windy but has passing places.

As for where to take the kids as you know I don't have any children myself but there is plenty to do in Newquay. Dairyland is nearby, there's Crantock beach, Minatura at Goonhavern.

Hope this is of some help.

Jo-anne what do your children like doing, how old? There are other campsites in that area Monkey Tree touring park and New Perran Park are quite nice maybe more suitable for children. Silverbow is lovely but I don't think they except teenagers only young children. Newquay has a zoo forgot to mention earlier and a boating lake, there is horse riding, amusement arcades and lots to do.

reece is 14 and lucas is 6. reece has special needs and lucas is a very small 6 year old he looks about 2-3 as he was so prem. they like the beach, going on there bikes, reece like the swimming pool lucas like paddling.

i dont know what to do.

i dont know whether to do hillhead for 11 night then find something quiet for another 11 nights in cornwall. or just stick with treamble and hope they can extend our stay. will i spend more on a site with everything or will i spend more on a site with nothing going out everyday fuel etc etc.

help

Jo-anne what about a Haven campsite there is one in Perranporth which is not far from Newquay? I would stay with the Newquay area as thats got the most to do. But like you say you will be out everyday from Treamble Valley finding things to do as nothing on the site. Have you looked up Hendra or Trevornick as if I had children these would be the best sites as they have everything on them.

Its very difficult choosing the right site isn't it?

Good luck Mandy
