Hi Paul,

We have Alde heating in our present 'van, and also in a previous 'van. We have never had any problems with it, so where this dealer got his info from I don't know.

Given the choice, we would go for Alde all the time, you don't get the cold spots eg. bathroom area that you do with the blown air. Although it takes a bit more time for the 'van to warm up from scratch, the temperature is kept at a constant, so you do'nt wake up during the night and you're freezing cold, it works on exactly the same principal as your central heating at home.

Hope this helps.

The Aldi system might be rare in the UK but it's standard fit in Scandinavia,I would say that fact alone proves it's pedigree.

Aldi in Northamton run training courses for dealers and owners alike, this surely proves how straight forward to service it is if four hours is all it takes.

We have Alde and it works really well. We also carry a small fan heater to give a quick boost if required. The Alde works better on gas in my opinion.

I have a Fleetwood Heritage and bought it because of the Alde heating, my lad got burnt on the Trauma fire in our Abbey. I reckon it is brilliant. The big problem we had with blown air was when it gets up to temp and the fan still runs you get a draft (I don't know if this is the same on all models) The Alde is a much more consistant heat and it is much more controlable throughout the day.

We've winter caravanned and never had issues with blown air heating, we find it quick and efficient and once the van is warmed the fans are inaudible on the lsow setting and you can sleep with them at night with no problem and ticking clocks keep me awake.

The blown air system can be used in warm weather to cool the van as well, a feature we would never want to be without. It's not always possible to have air co running all the time and it can be a noise nuisance and have other drawbacks.

Blown air used at night in hot weather is a great bonus !

Al;de is great.

Not all caravan dealers know how to service it. Only those form makes that fit it to their vans (e.g. Fleetwood)
