Truma heating not working

We have a problem with our Truma Ultraheat system. When electric mode is switched on it causes immediate tripping of caravan and site fuses. Has anyone any idea what the most likely cause is and if it is the element that has failed would this cause a short. Has anybody replaced an element on this system?
 
If you search previous topics you should find info on the over temperature switch hidden in the back of the unit - may be the cause, but should not blow the rest of the van.

Switch off the heating system at it's isolator and see if the rest of the van systems are OK (e.g. water heater, sockets, lights). If so then fault is cleary with Truma unit. Depends on your level of DIY skills whether to have a look yourself or get some help, but don't take any risks.
