Truma motor mover

Has anybody had a truma twin axel mover fitted to thier van? we are in the process of having ours removed. It is the worst piece of equipment I have ever purchased, they say it will turn the van 90' in a length and a half of the van it moves it about 10'. Even the engineer that came to look at said it was not very good but truma were not prepared to do anything about it. Our van is A SWIFT CONQ 630 LUX.
 
jon, our in laws had one fitted on there new abbey spectrum. they havent had the emergency t bar with it no instructions and they got charged about 1600. they thought it would be like our we have a rhike ( if spelt correct) single wheeler fitted onto our avondale dart 556/6 and its fantastic. it does what it says on the box.its like a remote control car.

the in laws wernt happy either and where they bought it from they also do the rhike twin wheeler mover which is as good as the single one but were not offered this option. it has 4 motor movers and is as good as the singlt wheeler priced at about 1800.the inlaws were offered an exchange but they asked for an extra 500, 200 as they are 200 dearer and they wanted an extra 300 for taking the truma one off and putting the rhike one on. if they were offered the rhike one in the first place they wouldnt have any of this trouble.

the truma mover had 2 motors one moves it and one pulsates it thats why it moves like its shaking.

the rhike you get a big chunky folder etc etc.

maybe you should go to trading standards it not bought for

purpoise it was bought for.

hi frank and val, good luck for today i think you have my ultimate set up if im right. a toyota land cruiser and i think you have a bailey wyoming. when you pick the van up get them to show you how you use the mover. my in laws wernt able to have a demo as they wouldnt even put a battery on the brand new 18,500 van for them. there still waiting for there instructions, warrenty card and emergency t bar.

Watched a guy move a Senator Louisiana twin axle at Brown Moor last weekend with the new Truma TE mover. Spun the van like it was on a penny, really was an impressive piece of kit. Do the complaints on the Truma mover relate to the previous model.

It will now be tomorrow before we can have a real go with the motor mover ( the dealers day off, and the van has not been moved to the storage yard ). Our set up will be the Toyota LC4 with the 3.0lt diesel and auto box.The van is a Bessacarr Cameo 425 GL which is a twin axle model.

With regards to the Truma Mover I quote from a well known caravan magazine

Verdict " A bells and whistles device with a safety loop and electronic engagement". Some may find it's high price prohibitive" On the test it also says the " FM Handset makes for smoother operation ". I hope we have spent
 
Next time I will be buying a PowRTouch from the write ups on this forum. I have a Truma fitted but it got stiff so I called out a Mobile Caravan Repairs. He found a part was bent and another part broken. This was on a Thursday and in a weeks time I we were going to Bognor Regis in the van. No probs said the engineer, he would fax Truma and the parts would be with him by Tuesday. He had a reply from Truma that the following week they were stocktaking and no parts went in or out of the company. They would send them if they finished stocktaking early. Well they never so I had to cancel Bognor the day before we should have left. Lets put this into perspective, it's the height of the holiday season and what do Truma do, close for stocktaking, lmaooo. What's wrong with doing it in the winter when business must be quieter. Trumas after sales service STINKS. I dont expect this post to stay on the forum long because Truma probably advertise with Practical Caravan and it may jeopardise their fees.
 
We will try ours out tomorrow, Truma TE model on a twin axle van so I will post and let you know how we go on

hi frank the inlaws only had there about a month ago. i saw it juddering and shaking last weekend.

i think its the model you said.
 
well yes im even more impressed sorry i said a bailey wyoming even thought i would love one of those i would love new bessacarr even more. if i win the lottery ill be having the same set up as you two. lol
 
the after sales on anything you buy now days is rubbish.

dont worry l.b if its removed at least i read it.

update- my inlaws new rikhe (if spelt correct) has arrived at the dealers. i talked him into changing it so hopefully the truma will be going and the new rikhe one installed.
 
I must have had a senior moment as John would say, Cameo 645 GL is the model. Jo-Anne what van do your in laws have the Truma fitted on.

We have used both the Truma and Powtrouch motor movers (single axle) and I certainly recommend the Powrtouch very highly. The after sales service is fantastic as is the, all inclusive, 5 year no quibble guarantee.

The only problem we have experienced is that part of the power locking key broke. However, this didn't cause us a problem as they supplied two at the time of fitting. We telephoned Powrtouch and explained our problem:

"No problem, sir!" my husband was told. "I will arrange for a further 3 keys to be sent out as replacement parts.". True to their promise they did AND they arrived the following day!!! Now how is that for service. I must add a declaration: I am in no way connected to this company. I am a user only of their product.

I don't doubt your word at all Ann. I've seen lots of good write ups in this forum regarding Powrtouch :O) Not too many regarding Truma though with the exception of my own but that wont happen again. I still can't get over the nonsense of stock taking in the height of the holiday season.
 
I have had a Truma twin axle motor mover fitted to my senator Wyoming for the past 2 years. Only had one problem which the dealer found difficult to fix.Arranged for me to go to the Truma factory at Burton.Excellent service, polite staff. they checked the whole system free of charge. The mover works perfectly and gets a lot of use both summer and winter. I have spoke to many caravanners on this subject and it would seem that some delears do not fit the system correctly. I have seen the mover fitted incorrectly on afew vans, both electrics and mover parts.
