Hi everyone I have a bit of a problem with my heater, I have a 2002 Coachman Amara 530/4 With this cold weather I normally run the heater in the van on electric as I keep it at home and hooked up to the mains, yesterday I put the heating on set thermostat dial at 25 power slide switch at 2000w and the on/off switch on The green light came on ok I set the fan on auto and heat setting between 2 and 3.It all heated up nicely and the warm air was comming thro the vents, I went in this morning to turn it down and it was stone cold no light on the control panel but electric still present in the van sockets, couldnt get to have a good look as I was going to work so wont get in it till the weekend, Is there a fuse between the Thermostat and the heater? or is there somewhere else I should look, on the mains box I cant remember seeing a specific fuse for the heater,

As there is for the fridge, Maybe at weekend I can get in and trace back but thought I`d ask as normally someone might have had this happen to them, and save me looking at bits i dont need to, Thanks inadvance Rick

First check the MCBs to see if one has tripped. Next check the isolating switch for the Ultraheat (ours is in the wardrobe but it could be on a bedlocker front) which has a fuse. It sounds like a loss of power as the green light is powered by a 12v transformer in the heater PCB. Failing that, it could be the PCB that has failed and you are best to contact Gary at Arc Systems for more advice or a replacement board.

Let us know how you get on.

No reset on the Truma. It has two overheat thermostats, one of which is self hold but I don't think this is the problem.

Hi Mike

Been out to sort the heater today armed with my multimeter, everything seemed fine, checked from the mains to a 13 amp switched fuse box, fuse ok but on testing further the switch is faulty some times i could flick it and thermostat light came on. Went to homebase bought a new box and its been working ok since.

So thanks for your advice glad it wasnt anything else as the heater is not the easiest to work on space wise.

Hello Rick, by strange coincedance this happened to me last week and after checking i found that two wires connecting the plug to the front of firehad had been rubbing right down to the bare wire. Rewired it and now ok.
