Truma ultrastore water heater not working on electric

Hi Everyone

Just returned from first outing with our 2003 Bailey Pageant Champagne in witch we had trouble with the truma ultrastore water heater on electric, it was ok at first but then would only work on the gas we kept trying it and it did work once more on the electric but has`nt since.

Not sure if this had anything to do with it but the electric to all the van did trip two or three times but we put that down to overloading the curcit as it went off when we had the TV,Kettel and heating on.

We had a simmilair experience earlier this year. We cahanged our van in February and had a nice week in York, van was lovely and warm and plenty of hot water. Drained the van down and returned it to storage without any problems. In mid march we had a week touring and at the 1st stop the water wouldnt heat on electricity, checked all the fuses and trips no joy, anyway switched it all off and switched on the gas, everything worked fine. Thought I would try it on mains again and guess what it worked fine and has done since.

it may have tripped out ( the electric element ) it should reset it self , but sometimes you have to loosen the nut behind it , them tighten up to reset it . did you swith it on without water in it ? this will cause this to happen . this would explain why it is working on the electric again .

Hi Callum many thanks for your reply,no we did`nt switch it on with no water in it but we do want to give what you sugested a try but din`nt understand were the nut is,do you mean we have to get inside the heater?

its like an element on a kettle , it pops out . no you do`nt have to go inside the heater , its on the outside , you may have to tear the carboard slightly where the element is to see it . you loosen it , then tighten it .
