Hello there,

I wonder if anyone can help me.I have just bought my first caravan and on my first trip out I wasn't sure how to use the Truma Ultrastore water heater installed in my caravan on the electric setting(I forgot my gas bottle so I am not sure if it even works on this yet but one thing at a time!!)Is it just a case of switching it on and waiting for the water to heat up as I was so worried about the ultrastore burning out and running out of water that I dare not leave it on without the tap running!!How long would I expect to wait for hot water?I truly am a novice and really would appreciate a simple amswer to what is probably a really simple question.

Thank you

First make sure it's full of water which means turn a tap to the hot position and run till water is coming out without spitting air as well.

[Its a water storage heater so heats up its contents, 10 or 14 litres depending on model. Its not an "instantaneous" type heater so has no hope of heating up running water.]

Then switch on the electricity and wait. In an hour the water should be quite warm enough. It is thermostatically controlled to I recall 70 degrees so ultimately gets too hot for your hands.

You can heat simultaneously with electricity and gas without harm for a quicker heat up time. On gas it has a variable thermostat so to you can set it via a knob to say only heat up to 50 to 55 degrees, hot enough for most requirements and cool enough that it should not chalk up too much in hard water areas.
