Truma Ultrastore Water Heater

Hi all, my water heater is 'dripping' from an overflow(?) that is connected to the hot water outlet and making the pump run intermittently. I have just been on holiday with no problems but am now back on site as I work away. The hot water outlet is a 'T' piece, with hot water going one way and a drain going overboard. The van is a 2004 Bailey Senator Oklahoma. Any help appreciated. I still have a months warranty left as I bought it 11 months ago. Thanks, Gary.

The hot outlet T-piece incorporates a pressure release valve, any released water going out the drain tube.

It looks like yours has failed - the T-piece can be replaced easily.

Either get it dealt with under warranty or get the part from a Truma dealer (the better ones, like Jacksons of Arley, will have it in stock) and fit it yourself - the latter might be the easiest for you.

I only know all this because exactly the same happened on my 2001 Pageant but after the warranty had expired.

Before you go buying a new part, just try giving the existing on a sharp tap with a suitable object. I too have had this problem, probably due to lime scale build up and cured my problem this way. It will soon be obvious if it has worked.

If limescale is the problem, the heater can be descaled easily.

Mix 10 pints (about 5.5 litres) of white vinegar, from any supermarket, with an equivalent quantity of fresh water in the aquaroll - fill the system and run the water heater for an hour or two - drain the system and flush with fresh water.
