After just two years and two months my Truma/Carver Motor Mover packed up. I tried all the usual things ie checked that the on-board battery was up to scratch, pressed the reset switch in the control unit, put new batteries in the handset.

All to no avail.

On return from holiday I took the caravan to my dealer who discovered that the PCB in the control box had burnt out. Had a new one fitted. Then discovered that the existing handset wouldn't marry to the new PCB so I had to have a new one of these as well. Total cost £236.01 inc. VAT and labour.

I was not a happy bunny and decided to contact Truma over the matter.

Within a week had a letter back saying they were sorry and that they would meet the costs in full.

So a very big and public "Thank you" to Truma. It just goes to show that there IS a god out there.

Hi Vic

Dont know if you noticed my post on Truma,I has a problem with my heater, the dealer wanted the whole van in,no doubt to charge me as much as poss! so thought I would try truma direct to see if they knew what was the prob and fix it ourselves, they had various pieces sent to them which they tested for free, couldn't find anything so in the end the whole fire went to them including switch, turned out it was an intermittent fault, part replaced all for free, cannont praise them enough! Sent them an e-mail to praise them to the hilt! they saved me a fortune !

Hi Tina,

I hadn't seen it but they do seem to be sympathetic to peoples' problems.

I suppose in the case of motor movers they're in direct competition with Powerwheel and Reich both of whom I believe provide 5 year warranties against their 2 year one. They don't want to lose out on sales because they get a reputation over being hardheaded over warranty issues.

I was delighted with my outcome and well done you........

Vic
