TV Aerial Cable

I have a Bailey Pegasus 534 (2011), and have a problem with the aerial cable when connected outside of the van to the Sat Dish or site post. In previous vans I have taken the cable through the window. Unfortunately with the position of the TV and window on the 534 this is not practical, as the blinds cannot be close properly, closed the curtains but the other half was not happy, for show not to be used, cannot understand.
I find it strange that there is an external connection for the gas and Electric (outside socket) but not the Aerial.
I would like to route the cable through the locker door under the bed the same way that the power cable is routed into the Battery box. This would require a small cut out to be made in the door. My worries are as follows:
How do I stand on warranty? How good can I make the cut? Is it worth it?
Can I have your opinions please and or possible solutions

I routed mine through the mains locker (where you plug the mains lead into the van) drilled a small hole through the plastic
battery box holder fixed a connector on the end - it means you do not have to drill any external holes and the cable fits
alongside the mains lead.

If you don't want to drill a hole in the side of the van, why don't you drop the co-ax wire down through an exsisting floor vent

When I purchased my van I had the dealer fit a sat socket in my battery box so the cable plugs into it and I can close the battery box after.
However I also have a sat dish on the roof of the caravan so under the fixed bed is a splitter box if i want to use the sat on the roof I slide it to position A and if I connect an external dish because the caravan roof dish wont work because of trees or I am too far south for the dish size I simply slide it to position B.
Therfore I have no connections to make on the television everything remains the same simply slide the switch to either A or B.
As the external connector was fitted by the dealer it does not affect my warranty neither should it as it is in the battery box and therefore is not exposed to the elements or affect the intergrity of the caravan build

Hi Steve,
I agree with Dusty Dog, the Maxview outside connector for vans is a great bit of kit. You can get either single TV coax or double TV and Sat connectors in the same unit. From memory the dual box cost me about £15.00 from a caravan dealer. It's very easy to fit and just requires holes drilled through the van wall. Not to scary as the unit seals the holes completely. Fit it where you require (ensure clear access from the inside) and run the coax cables in your bed boxes or wherever to your TV and/or Sat box. I fitted one to my Bailey Senator and it took about 15 minutes. (longer to run the wires inside the van). Still a very neat and practical piece of kit and it looks good from the outside.

.........remember battery compartments on caravans are sealed from the inside of the caravan to prevent any explosive battery gases entering the habitation area.

Any holes that you drill to pass a cable through should be sealed with a flexible sealant or tight fitting grommet.

Thanks for the replies, I looked at routing through the battery box, having seen it done before, my concerns were as detailed by Gafferbill along with running Coax with mains cable. I will probably go with the suggestion by Dusty Dog and Top Cat, but like the idea of the dealer fitting so I will look at the cost of having it done when the van is serviced.
